PGOC utilizes measurement-while-drilling (MWD) surveying technology to determine the well path and its position in three-dimensional space. MWD is a valuable tool that can establish true vertical depth, bottom-hole location, and orientation of directional drilling systems.
PGOC Drilling services lead the industry with the largest and most robust high pressure, high-temperature offering, and invests in significant research and development in HP/HT technology. In HP or HT #wells, equipment is required to withstand temperatures higher than 300°F/149°C and pressures above 18,000 psi/124 MPs. Today, the majority of PGO Drilling’s measurement/logging-while-drilling (MWD) tools are rated to 347°F/175° C and 25,000 psi/172 MPs.

LWD sensors deliver wireline-quality petrophysical data and address directional drilling, formation evaluation, and geo steering applications. Gamma services are probe-based or collar-mounted with our measurement-while-drilling (MWD) service. Gamma-ray sensors detect lithology changes.
Resistivity services are offered through our system, delivering comprehensive evaluation of your formation and near-bore environments.
Our system offers accurate nuclear measurements and formation density images. Real-time azimuthally sectored bulk density and neutron-porosity measurements are designed for integration within your rotary steerable drilling systems.
Magnetic resonance services offer a lithology-independent porosity measurement while drilling through our system, quantifying fluids occupying pore space into fractions that contribute to production and fractions that do not. PGO measurements aren’t affected by formation, borehole, or near-borehole environment. Except for the hydrocarbon effect, environmental corrections are not required
Formation pressures services offer real-time measurements of formation pressure while drilling. Our system determines reservoir fluids mobility, optimizing the acquisition period and minimizing the total time required to accurately measure formation pressure. This minimizes nonproductive time (NPT).
Acoustic service is offered via our technology, which integrates advanced downhole acoustic technology into our existing modular tool design and runs with many formation evaluation service levels.
PGO Reservoir navigation services use real-time LWD formation evaluation sensors with directional data and formation models to properly target your drilling assembly. This ensures optimal entry to maintain the wellbore in the zone of maximum interest, predicting and avoiding reservoir exit. Azimuthal imaging is also available.
The PGO rotary steerable system (RSS) features a unique steering mechanism that does not use traditional external actuation or moving parts. Instead, its near-bit stabilizer pushes off center from the drill string and can be adjusted continuously to orient the bit in the desired direction. This enables customers to drill higher-quality wells while lowering the cost of directional drilling operations through better downhole maneuverability, improved borehole quality and reduced non-productive time.
The PGO RSS eliminates extra time consumed by sliding, reduces friction and increases the rate of penetration in hostile drilling environments. Its shorter tool design delivers greater lateral lengths in the reservoir. Other features include:

The PGO RSS is designed to operate in any extended-reach drilling well onshore or offshore, conventional or unconventional, at temperatures up to 347 degrees Fahrenheit (175° Celsius) and up to 20,000 psi. It features one of the best build rates in the industry to maximize lateral length in restricted areas, such as U.S. land locations. It also delivers complex trajectories in areas with tight well spacing, mitigating collision risk.
